About

Masjid Talha is based in the Northfields area of Dewsbury, West Yorkshire. It serves residents in the vicinity, as well as students attending the nearby Kirklees College, less that 10 minutes walking distance from the Masjid.

History

In June 2011, a group of residents came together in an effort to establish a Masjid for the local community. An existing hall was purchased in Sh'aban 1432 (July 2011) and adapted to accommodate 5 daily salah and provide evening classes for children.

Activities

Today, Masjid Talha hosts 5 daily salah and Jumua. Short courses are also occasionally held for mature students. Alongside daily prayers and classes, the Masjid has a variety of activities including:

· Developing a passion for civic participation (Visiting elderly, sick, neighbourhood cleaning etc).

· Providing humanitarian assistance to victims of natural disasters.

· Promoting good-relations between members of different faiths and backgrounds.
